Assistant Management Accountant
This innovative and state of the art manufacturing and engineering business is looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance Manager and the Finance Director.
The role would suit an ambitious individual seeking a career in Finance and looking to gain a qualification as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) or equivalent, for which purpose the company will provide on-the-job training and a formal study package. The postholder will support the Finance Manager in a broad range of accounting functions relating to general and sub-ledgers, including management reporting, reconciliations, and transaction entry.

This is a permanent role paying between £28,000 – £33,000 depending on experience and the start date will be in Feb 2021.
Preparation of regular management reports and business KPIs to strict deadlines
Maintenance of the company’s Fixed Asset Register
Preparation and reconciliation of quarterly VAT Returns
Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances as required
Analysis of financial month-end variances
Calculation and scheduling of accruals and prepayments
Preparation and posting of accounting journals
Credit control, liaising directly with customers to progress payments and resolve disputes and queries
Maintenance and reconciliation of Invoice Discounting (ID) account and liaising with the ID bank to ensure appropriate levels of debt recognition and management
Assist the Finance Manager with management/financial reporting and analysis, inventory management, cash/receipts forecasting, and ad hoc reporting and analysis as required from time to time
Assist the Finance Manager in leading the company’s auditors through financial records and supporting documents as part of their audit of the statutory accounts
The ideal Candidate must have an aptitude for Management Accounts, a can-do /pro-active approach, possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems. It is key that you are committed to qualifying and developing as a management accountant, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in manufacturing would be highly beneficial especially if you have used ERP/MRP systems.
