Description

This charitable foundation is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the friendly Milton Keynes team and support the Finance Director in all aspects of financial control and reporting, providing a supporting link between the finance team, trustees, management, and non-finance staff.

This is a key role within the organisation and would suit someone who enjoys autonomy whilst working in a small team within a financial environment. You should be adept at prioritising your own work to achieve deadlines and possess excellent numeracy and financial awareness, with the ability to evaluate, monitor and draw conclusions from financial information.

This is a permanent full-time role paying £27,000 - £30,000 and offers training support if you are pursuing your Accountancy qualification.

Responsibilities

Process all day-to-day transactions for both companies, including claiming gift aid on donations, and importing data from salesforce
Undertake weekly credit control on outstanding sales invoices, discussing any potential issues with the Business Development Manager
Process payments for both companies in a timely manner, ensuring that relevant authorisations are obtained
Reconcile all relevant bank accounts on a timely basis
Process the outsourced investment portfolio transactions on both sage and salesforce including, but not limited to, processing of the quarterly receipts, creating of new funds, managing payments
Process the property investment portfolio transactions on a timely basis
Prepare draft management accounts, comparing with budget, for MKCP for review by the Finance Director
Provide quarterly KPI information for inclusion in the relevant KPI packs
Provide weekly cashflow updates to the Finance Director and CEO
Manage the insurance renewal process
Support in providing financial information for reports as required to support the sound financial management of the organisation
Assist the Finance Director in the preparation of the annual budgets and statutory accounts, taking the lead on the budgets and accounts for the Property Company
Assist in providing financial information for reports as required to support the sound financial management of the organisation.
Assist in the updating or implementing of finance policies and practices as required and communicate these across the team and organisation.
Develop and maintain effective communication across teams with other members of staff and trustees.

Experience Requirements

If you have previous experience in a finance role within a charity or wish to move into the charitable sector, then this could be an excellent career move for you.

Skills

Knowledge of Windows and its applications, especially Word and Excel are important and good knowledge of SAGE accounting software, would be ideal although training can be provided if required.
