This Milton based Charity is looking for an experienced part-time Finance Director to manage the Finance department and help shape the strategic plan.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team and be responsible for the day to day management of the Charity’s accounting and financial functions, including development of accounting controls and procedures and provision of financial advice in consultation with the Chief Executive to support mangers to monitor budgets through the provision of regular financial reports.
Contribute fully to the development of strategy across all areas of the organisation, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and organisational drivers.
Provide leadership to the Strategic Leadership Team, to optimise the organisation’s financial performance and strategic position.
Prepare and circulate relevant Committee and Board papers and to attend as a non-voting member as appropriate.
Take overall control of the organisation’s accounting function including the management and operation of the accounting systems, production of the end of year consolidated group accounts (in conjunction with the Treasurer and Chief Executive) and to prepare and direct the annual audits.
Manage and ensure the monthly Payroll including dealing with the Inland Revenue, Contributions Agency, Pension Scheme administrators etc.
Take a lead role in the production of the overall budgets for the organisation in consultation with the Chief Executive, Directors and operational managers.
Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future strategic development to include the on-going development and updating of the financial policies and procedures.
Manage the movement of funds within the organisation’s bank accounts and/or investment portfolios within the cash flow forecasts in accordance with agreed financial procedures in consultation with the Chief Executive.
Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met including compiling and processing the annual returns to Companies House, Charities Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies.
