Senior Client Accountant
This professional law services firm is looking for a Senior Client Accountant to provide accounting services to a range of client entities of Governance Services (Jersey, Guernsey, UK and Cayman) with a particular emphasis on bookkeeping and maintenance of accurate accounting records.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Client Accounting, and working closely with members of the Client Accounting team you will be part of the Governance Services global team, working together to ensure that work produced is consistent with the firm's vision, values and strategy; and is compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements meeting best accounting practice.
This is a permanent role, working on a hybrid basis (office in Central London) paying £50,000 - £70,000 depending on qualification and experience.
Maintain accurate and up to date accounting records in the client entity database (Viewpoint)
Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports and net asset valuations
Ensure that you have a detailed understanding of the transactions you are dealing with and liaise with your line manager as required
Work with colleagues to ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed
Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required
Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any identified issues
Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures
Show an awareness of the integration of Corporate Services across jurisdictions and also with the law firm, operating in a unified, consistent and co-ordinated manner
The ideal applicant will be a Qualified or Part qualified ACCA/ACA/ICAEW/ICAS (or international equivalent), with relevant experience with good up to date technical accounting knowledge and an aptitude for data analysis/problem solving. Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly Viewpoint would be an advantage and good working knowledge of Excel is essential. There is a high level of interaction with an responsibility for Clients and the post holder will be required to delegate and work closely with team members and others, coordinating projects and work across multiple stakeholders so strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
