This NHS affiliated organisation is urgently seeking an experienced HR Procurement professional to join at a time of exciting change as Senior Category Manager.
Reporting directly to the Category Director and the Deputy Managing Director you will be tasked with managing collaborative procurement within the NHS as well as working with other public sector bodies, advising and managing their procurement processes to deliver benefit to the wider public sector. The role will centre around projects such as looking at the different Trusts and aligning Policy drivers, understanding key influencers and strategising to tackle the market place.
Support the Category Director in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large number of Trusts, by analysing current spend information to develop procurement strategies.
Ensure contract compliance across the organisation pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets.Meet customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money, through compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively managing the market place through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management.
Work with the Senior Clinical Category Managers in developing Clinical Networks by providing input into appropriate clinical projects.
Senior activity in liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance in the use of agreed standardised products, ensuring the range of items within catalogues is rationalised to an optimum level.
Set up and/or work with established Product Evaluation Groups to evaluate products and fast track product rationalisation decisions.
Ensure processes are in place so that effective, collaborative equipment purchases, trials, and long term plans to allow for standardisation using evidence base and innovative practice across the health economy of the region.Lead/facilitate strategic initiatives such as sustainable procurement, local supplier development and collaborative opportunities
Ensure that local procurement, whole lifecycle costs and the environmental impact of financial decisions is considered by stakeholders in the contract evaluation process
Identifies and works with other government agencies and social services in the integration of procurement/product-service standardisation for health & government related services e.g. home care, schools, prisons, defence, etc.
This is a permanent role paying £52,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits.
